Citizens from Sheffield, Doncaster and Rotherham met to explore how to grow Neighbourhoods of Care.
Authors: Emma Verity, Simon Duffy and Glyn Butcher
On 23rd April citizens from Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster met at the Energy Hub in the centre of Sheffield to discuss the idea of Neighbourhoods of Care. They were joined by the MP for Sheffield Central, Abtisam Mohamed. The event was organised by Citizen Network and supported by Emma Verity who produced the attached report from the notes and discussion.
Simon Duffy of Citizen Network explained how the current care system could be reformed in order to shift power and resources back towards neighbourhoods.
Glyn Butcher of People Focused Group helped people to think about how we see each other, reminding us to look beyond labels and diagnosis to see people’s full potential.
The group explored what was strong and growing in our communities now and many people stepped forward to offer some leadership to explore what could be developed in their neighbourhoods.
The report shares an outline of what was discussed, read and download the free pdf in your browser, see the link below.
