A creative project from JDC in Lithuania shows how barriers can be broken down by sharing a cup of coffee.
Solidarity Coffee is a creative way of breaking down barriers, invented by members of Jaunuolių Dienos Centras (JDC) in the Lithuanian city of Panevėžys.
People with intellectual disabilities set up a mobile café and offered coffee to their fellow citizens as a way of reaching out, making connections and breaking down barriers. People sat together, talked and new relationships were created.
JDC is a member of Citizen Network, find out more about them at: https://pjdc.lt
This project has been supported by the European Union Erasmus+ programme for adult education.
