Presentation given at the Eastern Region's mental health conference on personalisation and the prospects for radical integration of health and social care funding.
Simon Duffy explored the topics of personalisation and integration within mental health services at the Eastern Region's event on Mental Health and Personalisation.
The case for extending personalisation into mental health services is very strong. It is clear that the whole person focus of personalisation and its attention to supporting citizenship is highly consistent with the messages of the Recovery Movement.
Nevertheless the challenge of extending personalisation into mental health services - particularly into the NHS where more than 90% of mental health funding exists - are considerable. This presentation outlines the logic of moving to a much more integrated approach to mental health funding and a new, more ambitious, strategic agreement between local government and the NHS.
