After a career working to improve disabled people’s lives, first 17 years the NHS, culminating in a Board level Director of Nursing post followed by 27 years as the Chief Executive of the national learning disability charity Choice Support I elected to take an early retirement at the beginning of 2018.

Whilst waiting for my first interim assignment I took the opportunity to reacquaint myself with practice on the front line spending several months agency nursing. In October 2018 I commenced taking on interim assignments using my skills and experience to continue to contribute to health and social care through a portfolio type career.

Whilst I have the skill, experience and enthusiasm to work at a CEO / Director level in large or smaller organisations I am also interested in appointments at an operational level or leading a specific project or a Trustee role. Since commencing work as an interim manager / consultant, prior to my current post, I have completed various assignments. These include 6 months at the Epilepsy Society supporting a Care Home to move from five ‘Requires Improvement’ ratings to five ‘Good’ ratings, an 18-month project management role with Norwood and a 15-month assignment at Discovery, Somerset, initially working with two Care Homes to achieve various quality improvements. After three months the first Care Home achieved five ‘Good’ ratings in its CQC inspection having received three ‘Requires Improvements’ in its previous inspection. Then I was asked to fulfil the role of Interim Operations Director for six months whilst recruitment took place

In my most recent assignment as interim Managing Director Adult Services, National Autistic Society, I was responsible for budgets of £56 million and managing services across the four nations of the UK. My achievements include:
