The Blue Badge is for people with a disability to be able to park near to the places they want to go. The sign is on the ground.

There are a lot of people that do not have a badge but still they park on the space for disabled people. You should have the badge-holder with you when parking in the disabled space – that’s person the badge is actually for.

Too often, when the badge-holder arrives there are no spaces because all the spaces have been taken by cars without a blue badge. This means that the person with the blue badge cannot get out of the car.

There are a lot of blue badges that are fake. For example, you can see that people have pasted their own picture over the original picture. Sometimes the necessary chip is missing. Traffic wardens should look at that.

You are assessed for a blue badge by your family doctor. It’s important. People should stop abusing the blue badge scheme.
