Solo works with the client, their representatives and commissioners to provide tailor-made packages of care for those with complex medical needs, Learning Disabilities and Autism.
Established in 2012 after an accident which led to 2:1 care 24/7 and a change in family circumstances, Solo remains a family run business today. We are an organisation which understands and empathises with the lived experience of families dealing with complex medical needs, Learning Disability and Autism.
Solo’s aim is to enhance lives, inspire hope and build futures. We create personalised, adaptable care packages with clients, as well as their representatives, commissioners and other relevant parties, giving clients personal choice and control to be cared for and supported within their own homes, by a dedicated team of personal assistants, overseen and managed by a Client Relations Manager (CRM). Our unique business model provides families with a single point of contact, and a tailor-made package of care. There is no “one size fits all” model within our business. Training is provided, be it for medical issues such as PEG feeding through to team training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for our clients who display Behaviours of Distress.
CRMs oversee all elements of package management, from recruitment and training, supporting in DST reviews, advocacy, and by liaising with staff at Head Office who provide many services including a payroll, finance and HR function so that each package runs as smoothly as possible. Each client at Solo is an individual and not just a number or a code.
Within the company we have lived experience practitioners and fully trained and qualified Positive Behaviour Support practitioners. We can undertake PBS Support Assessments, work with clients and other professionals to write PBS Support Plans and provide the appropriate training to the teams working with each individual client.
Our experience in dealing with the ‘whole package’ rather than just one aspect means we provide clients with the support they need, when they need it. We believe in facilitating life, not just an existence.
