Note: Originally formed as the Campaign for the Mentally Handicapped by Ann Shearer and colleagues CMH led the early work against institutionalisation and segregation and was critical in turning the tide towards a more inclusive society. Later CMH became Values Into Action and the Scottish group became Values Into Action Scotland. The English organisation closed in 2012, but the Scottish organisation remains a vibrant and effective organisation working in partnership with self-advocates to advance human rights and inclusion.
