Red Press to Publish New Version of Keys

The new and accessible version of the Keys to Citizenship will be published soon.

Release | 25.05.23

We're excited to share the news that Red Press will be publishing a new, extended and updated version of the ‘Keys to Citizenship’ in January 2024.

Authors Wendy Perez and Simon Duffy have been on a mission to create an all-new and accessible version of the book, last published in 2006.

They have had the absolute pleasure of working with Clare Tarling who has acted both as Editor and easy read expert, and Ester Ortega who has created beautiful illustrations to sit alongside the text.

Red Press is a small, independent and values-led publishing house.

We love books, and we want to change the conversation around thorny issues in society.

What drives us: Challenging the status quo in an unjust world.

What delights us: Working at the intersection of language and social justice.

What defines us: Our author-centred approach to publishing.

Simon Duffy said:

“Wendy and I are excited to be working with Red Press. They really understand the importance of citizenship for everyone and why it is essential that we amplify the voices of people facing exclusion and disadvantage. We are looking forward to unveiling our radically different version of the Keys to Citizenship—much more accessible and full of beautiful and powerful illustrations.”
