Open letter from Campaign et al.
News | 12.07.13
The UK government has refused to make an assessment of the impact of its multiple cuts to income and support for disabled people. During a debate on 10th July in the House of Commons government minister and MPs were scornful of those organisations that had expressed dismay at government policy - ranging from the Citizen Advice Bureau to Pat's Petition. One MP called disability campaigners 'extremists'.
The Chair of the Campaign for a Fair Society, Jim Elder-Woodward OBE, has published an open letter and invited charities, disability and other concerned organisations to express their support for a proper assessment of the cuts. Please contact the Campaign for a Fair Society if you want to put your organisation's name to this letter.
