Citizen Network is very pleased to have been re-elected to the Democracy Network's Steering Group. The Steering Group is the elected board of the Democracy Network and works to guide, develop plans and strategy for the Network and helps support this community in myriad ways.

Dr Simon Duffy, President of Citizen Network Coop said:

“We're delighted to be a member of the Democracy Network. We need these collective approaches to exploring how to improve our democratic institutions. I was honoured to have been asked to join the Steering Group at its beginning, and I know that my replacement, Gavin Barker, a Citizen Network Fellow, will make an even better contribution to this work. Gavin has led Citizen Network's work on constitutional reform for several years and he combines passionate intelligence with a capacity to build bridges.”

This month the Democracy Network also launched the new Democracy Resource Hub featuring the Democracy Map — an 800+ directory of democracy organisations and projects across the UK, new Democracy Jobs and Democracy Funding boards, as well as a home for the network’s webinars, guides and free training videos/resources.

In further good news the Democracy Network has also been successful in applying to the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, and will receive £75,000 for our first Democracy Network Coalition Campaign ahead of the UK General Election. This funding will help draw attention to important dimensions of our democratic health that often seem to be ignored by the media and politicians.
