Building on Simon Duffy's latest book The Unmaking of Man, this talk was the opening keynote presentation for the 2013 New Zealand Disability Support Network Conference in Wellington. 

Although there is some awareness that disabled people suffered during the Holocaust too few know how central to the horror of the Holocaust disabled people were. Nor are we sufficiently aware that many of the forces that preceded the Holocaust are still very real today. We need to think more deeply about how to protect each other in all our diversity.
