Valeria Guarneros-Meza

Co-founder of The Policy Co-op

I am a researcher with interests in neighbourhood and local governance. I work in promoting co-productive research between academics and and voluntary and community organisations in York and North Yorkshire. Also, I am co-founder of The Policy Co-op, a non-profit organisation which seeks to open up the research of local policymaking to different community voices.

I am a passionate public policy professional whose expertise, through following a human-centred approach, focuses on the governance of places, public service delivery and its impact on everyday life. I worked for 15 years as a lecturer in higher education in the UK. I also have experience working in the charity and public sectors promoting human rights, environmental democracy and tackling inequalities in Mexico and the UK. My overall experience has allowed me to build holistic linkages among theory, practice and impact.
